Holidays, School Vacations & Weather Closings
MDC follows the Marblehead Public School schedule for all holidays, vacations and weather closings but not always. In the event of a weather closing, an email will be sent out and the closing will be posted to social media and the website.
Attendance
Students are expected to attend class regularly and punctually, as this is essential for their development. Consistency in attendance is key to each dancer's growth and overall progress. Please note that refunds will not be given for any missed classes, regardless of the reason. Attendance is also mandatory for the Dress Rehearsal, as it is a critical component for participation in the end-of-year show.
Missed Class/Make-Up Classes
While we don’t offer makeup classes, we are happy to let your child try another one of our classes as a makeup. If you are going to miss a class please let us know via text or email asap.
Behavioural Expectations
Students are expected to be on their best behavior at all times, consistently showing respect towards both the instructors and their fellow students. It is important that everyone in the classroom contributes to a positive learning environment. If students fail to follow the rules after being reminded multiple times, they will be asked to sit out for a portion of the class in order to reflect on their actions. Should a student continue to refuse to adhere to the established rules in class on multiple occasions, the studio will take the necessary steps to discuss the situation with the child’s parent or guardian to ensure a collaborative approach to resolving the matter.
Safety Protocols
Instructors will diligently follow all established safety protocols, ensuring that they are CPR certified and that a well-stocked first aid kit is readily available at all times. They will make it a point to notify and remind students of the essential safety protocols during dance class, which include guidelines such as no running in the studio and advising everyone to keep their hands to themselves at all times. It is important that all students adhere to these safety protocols to be able to participate in class activities. In the event of minor injuries, instructors will promptly distribute ice packs and band-aids, as well as notify a parent or guardian when class concludes. In case of a medical emergency, instructors are trained to call 911 immediately and will also inform the designated emergency contact for the student involved.
